Is the One Wish Willow Real? Where to Buy the Obsession Toy and What It Costs

Updated 30 October 2026 · about 4 min read

The One Wish Willow isn't a real product you'd find in a crystal shop; it was invented for Obsession. But the film's $500-million run turned it into real merchandise. Focus Features sells an official replica through onewishwillow.com, complete with the box and the snap-it-in-half ritual from the movie, and there are dozens of fan-made versions on Etsy for $7 to $28. Here's what's official, what's not, what each costs, and where people are getting overcharged.

What it is in the film

In Obsession, Bear buys a novelty toy called the One Wish Willow from a crystal shop. The box says to snap the stick in half and speak your deepest desire. He wishes that his friend Nikki would be obsessed with him, and the rest of the film is that wish going horribly right. Later he tries to buy up every remaining Willow to undo it.

The film was made for under $750,000, premiered at TIFF in September 2025, opened wide in May 2026 and has taken over $520 million, mostly from viewers under 35. That audience wants the thing from the movie, which is why the toy has its own fan economy.

The official one

Focus Features released an official One Wish Willow replica, sold through onewishwillow.com and in person at The Green Man shop in Los Angeles, which played the crystal shop. It's styled as the "vintage" boxed toy from the film and was launched with a tongue-in-cheek infomercial. It has sold out at points as demand spiked; check the site for stock and current price, and buy there rather than from a reseller.

There was also a One Wish Willow popcorn bucket sold at cinemas during the theatrical run. Those are already collectibles, and resale prices on eBay run well above the concession price.

The Etsy versions

Search "One Wish Willow" on Etsy and you'll find a crowd of fan-made replicas, almost all described as "inspired by" or "replica," which means unofficial. Typical prices:

Listing type Price
Wooden stick with printed box, magnetic snap $7–$10
Box only, printed replica $12–$15
"Screen-accurate" stick and box $15
Hand-painted stick and box $25–$30
T-shirts and candy-wrapper sticker downloads $9–$30

The cheap ones are a printed box and a dowel; the hand-painted ones are closer to the prop. None are licensed, so you're paying for a craft item, not merchandise. For a $7 to $15 gag gift that's fine. If you want the one from the film, the official replica is the only one that is.

How to avoid overpaying

  • Buy official from the official site. Resellers list the Focus Features replica on eBay at several times the price when it's out of stock. Wait for a restock instead.
  • Check "sold" prices before paying resale. On eBay, filter to Sold items. Asking prices for the popcorn bucket and the official Willow are often double what buyers actually pay.
  • Watch for "official" claims on marketplaces. Listings on TikTok Shop, Temu and AliExpress calling themselves official are not; there is one official source. See is TikTok Shop legit for the usual checks.
  • Don't pay hand-painted prices for a printed one. Read the description. "Hand-painted" and "printed" are different products at different prices.

Before you buy any version, scanning or searching it in Priced shows what the same item is selling for elsewhere, so you can see whether a listing is in line or inflated. Our guide on how to tell if a deal is actually a deal covers the rest.
